Telling The Stories Behind The Stitches.

I developed the logo and brand style for Quiltfolk in 2016, and continue to design the magazine and its sub-brands. Understated elegance in the design of this picture-book quarterly allows the beauty of the imagery and the heart of each story to shine through. Although it looks straightforward, I carefully calculated the balance between editorial and visuals to immerse the reader in the story.

The project continues to grow in scope, with each branch of the brand striving to inspire the quilting community in unique ways. Quiltfolk Magazine is a quarterly magazine that celebrates everyday quilters — it provides an inside look at the homes, towns, shops, and creative minds that make the quilting community so incredible.

I also developed the style for Quiltfolk’s digital publications. Quiltfolk Exclusives is a digital supplement for breaking exclusive news. Quiltfolk Explorer is a digital magazine similar to the original magazine, but this time exploring areas outside the USA. Quiltfolk Patterns is a re-imagining of the traditional quilt pattern, pairing tradition, and history of two quilts. An advertisement-free design offered a unique blank slate opportunity for clean, elegant design, which then translated to printed collateral, website, email campaigns, flyers, custom mailing campaigns, and trade show booths.
